Fire detection and alarm
- Fire detection and alarm systems are complex assemblies with manual or automatic alarm triggers, synchronized with control and signaling equipment that, together, can operate fire pumps, ventilation systems, mechanical smoke extraction, fire doors, etc. The ultimate goal is always protecting human lives, material assets, and preventing interruption of activity. The components of fire detection and alarm systems are, as a rule, the following:
- Fire detection panel – the intersection point of the system's elements that controls its functionality
- Smoke detector – the element connected to the detection panel, with the role of detecting any start of fire and transmitting corresponding signals to the panel
- Repeater panel – peripheral equipment through which the user can operate the system remotely when the operator is not physically in the same room where the panel is located.
- Alarm transmission equipment (communicators) – equipment that receives signals from the panel and subsequently transmits them to predefined users, who may be the rapid intervention dispatch center, firefighters, etc.
- Opto-acoustic warning equipment – devices through which a fire detection system signals the start of a fire using sound and/or warning lights
- Manual trigger button – activated in an emergency by breaking the protective glass against accidental use.
