Rapid nationwide expansion leads to extended operational capacity and experience in managing complex projects.

Contributing to professionalisation
PROTGUARD submits to the Romanian General Police Inspectorate and the Ministry of Labour a proposal on organising and developing private security services, together with principles, models and professional standards. Later, through Law 333/2003, many directions and mechanisms promoted in this initiative are reflected in the regulation and consolidation of Romania’s security industry.

Brief history
Founded in 1991 in Bucharest, PROTGUARD is one of the pioneers and leaders of professional private security services in Romania. Growing steadily, PROTGUARD covered the entire country with its services as early as the 1990s.
The year 2000 marked a key moment in the company’s development, through a change in strategy and approach to the private security market.
Shareholders, aiming to continuously improve services and strengthen the company’s market position, decided that some branches would become independent legal entities. In Constanța, the local branch became a standalone company and took over roughly one third of the country — the North, North-East and South-East regions. Starting from the client portfolio inherited from the parent company, the new entity grew its turnover and expanded its portfolio, becoming the 3rd largest company nationally in the Large Companies category in 2007. This success was supported by strong management and investment in equipment, logistics and, above all, personnel.
The next stage was developing a group of companies, covering new areas such as: detective services, building administration, transport and escort of people and groups, volunteer services and professional training.
Since 2014 we have introduced and promoted two innovative technical solutions on the market:
- detection systems for preventing fires and disasters, especially for national parks and protected areas, as well as forests and large industrial zones with a high fire risk
- active systems for preventing workplace accidents caused by machinery or equipment on platforms or in industrial premises
PROTGUARD logistics
Depending on the specifics of each site and the security risks identified in the risk analysis, PROTGUARD specialists establish the logistics required to fulfil the mission. Clients and our security agents have access to specific technical resources:
- marked patrol vehicles
- specialised vehicles for valuables transport
- off-road vehicles
- boats
- self-defence equipment (bulletproof and anti-vandal vests, helmets, shields, tear gas sprays, etc.)
- firearms with gas, rubber bullets or live ammunition, depending on the nature of the mission
- communication equipment (radio stations, phones)
- GPS vehicle and personnel tracking devices
- any other equipment and means whose necessity is imposed by the particularities of sites and missions
Specialised personnel
Employees directly involved in guarding and security services have an average age of 34, are qualified for this activity in accordance with current Romanian legislation. PROTGUARD ensures their periodic and ongoing training.
Logistical and managerial support for all activities is provided by trained, experienced staff.
Services are delivered at the highest level of quality and professionalism. This is the result of close collaboration between company departments and coordination by a young, committed and experienced management team.
Mobile crews, strategically positioned, ensure rapid intervention to resolve any security issue. For special situations, a crew patrols the area around sites for maximum safety.
